Hi David
I've been out on mine twice, both times with an 8.5 GTX, (80 kg's sheltered costal small chop).
The biggest overiding impression I had was that the width enabled me to use my 8.5 at both lighter and higher winds than on my smaller Starsurfer M. It planes up well with a few pumps, and when overpowered, as I was on my last session, it allowed me to hold onto the sail when others were down on 6.5's.
Since I'm coastal I don't need super big sails and am aiming for a 7.5 / 9.5 combo.
