Waves on Sat were ok at Shipwrecks but Sunday was really a bonus day. Got a call from another resort saying the surf was better than Sat. Wasted no time and managed to get some guest to go on a surf safari again to Ship Wrecks. Didn't expect anything great as the surf has been dying off and there was a light NE blowing. Arrived at Ship Wrecks to see some ovehead surf coming through. Wasted no time anchoring the boat and getting in. All the guest really had a great day surfing waves from waist high to overhead. Wasn't a narly, lump in your throat everytime a bigger set came kind of day, but never the less it was GOOD! Now we really need someone to stay on the boat and shoot some pics and work a video. Problem is that person needs to be a surfer but all the guys and gals who surf want to surf, not shoot pics or work a video. Jon

HI Otony, Waves on the northeast coast tend to pick up better swell. Sometimes we get some on our beach and reef. Look us up when you come over and we'll let you know.
Cheers
Peter

I will be going to Mana Mana Club from 27th Dec till 29th Dec. Could someone please update the present surf conditions and make a forecast for next week?
First time in Bintan but will be happy to have some small waves to surf. Last time I surfed was Bali in August. Feeling the surfing bug again.

Hi Kace, we are seeing small swell at the moment. The waves are pretty onshore and if you are looking for a mellow wave, we have a long board wave just in front of Mana Mana, we call Tjitjaks. If you're looking for a wave like Ulu's or Padang Padang, we don't have waves like that here. Look me up when you come by and i will fill you in on the spots here.
Cheers and Merry Christmas to all.
Peter

Thank you for the surf report Peter! Definitely will look you up when I am there. I was hoping that it won't be flat so some surfable onshore waves is good news.
A very Merry Christmas to you and all your buddies at Bintan too.

Hi Jon & Peter, It was nice to meet up with you guys at Mana Mana and share the finer points of surfing in Bintan. Thanks for the longboarding tips Jon. My wife and I really enjoyed the surfing holiday and definitely will return for more action, and maybe explore the other breaks. Perhaps just myself on a day trip next as my wife is going full term soon. In case you are wondering what my pregnant wife surfed on - its an inflatable air mat with plastic handles on the top-front-sides. Its shaped like a boogie board and extends just long enough to cradle her tummy. With flippers, she caught some long rides to the shore. Appreciate if you could email me the telephone number of the beach hut. By the way, how is the latest surf conditions? Happy New Year celebrations at Mana Mana! P.S.: My email addy is kace@tennis.com

Hey Kace, HWJ, Good to meet you too Kace. Swell is good today. Head high shore break with little wind. I wish i could get out there myself but a bit hungover after last night's (this morning's) new years eve bash. Jon got out a bit late as he had to run some errands but still scored some nice ones. HWJ, good to hear that Angie's knee is better. Many thanks for coming over too. Always look forward to having you and gang over. Tell Jus the waves are nice on New Years Day. Yesterday was really windy and got out for a little sesh myself before getting back to setting the place up for the big bash A happy successful and healthy (not forget WINDY) 2005 to all. Cheers Pete
