Hello

I search a board for very light winds, and my the first criteria of choice is : getting the earliest planing I can, and keep it !

With a 70cm fin, a 11.7m sail, and good pumping, will the F-Type 158 get planing as soon as the F159 ?

Thanks

There is a big difference in the tail section of the 2 boards. The Formula 159 has a tail widthy (1' off) of nearly 77cm and the Ftype is more like 73cm. The Formula also has sharp blocky rails while the Ftype has much softer rails. The formula will win out in early planing and upwind for sure, the Ftype is more easy to turn and more comfortable on the reach. So if early planing, upwind etc is absolutely the key critera then go formula, but if ease of handling is what matters most then go Ftype.
