hi, please advice me on what sail to buy. my height is 170cm, weighing 58kg, skill level roughly intermediate. looking for a sail that will suit most condtitions all year round. possible? hopefully compatible with long boards too. what size and type of sail is suitable? new or second hand? wanted to buy asap. please advice generously.

Something like a 7.5 would be good as long as it has good low end for use with the long board. This is a size you can use pretty much all year around, though once you get experienced you may want something smaller. Sails that come to mind are GTX, Matrix or the Retro. All can be rigged to be quite grunty. As for new or used, budget & skill level would dictate that. Remember in our tropic conditions a 2 year old sail will be pretty thrashed, so buy something old if (a) you are  constrained by $  and/or (b) you expect to really fall and wear out your first sail alot.

many thanks sukhdev! after sme consideration, i have bought an old sail to practice. will save my pennies to get a new rig n board when next year's models arrive. happy sailing!
