The Full Moon is the ONLY place to stay.....at any time of the year
All the others have recently been closed down and turned into charity shops.
Jibes is next door.
The 13th Fun Cup is 3-4 Feb so I suggest you stay there until then and you will thus be super prepared for the Event !

Matt, there are dozens of hotels along the beach, and dozens more across the road, with something for every budget.

Mui Ne is a bit expensive by Vietnam standards though.  I was accustomed to paying about 6 or 7 USD per night for hotel rooms,  but when I went to Mui Ne I couldn't find anything under $12.  You'll just have to grin and bear it.

For equipment rental, you can't beat Jibes.  Great people, great gear, great location (upwind from all the kiters), and, importantly, a great restaurant. Also, the owner, Pascal, has done so much to promote windsurfing, so he deserves our ongoing support.

Andrew, are you talking about Lam Tong, the restaurant next door to Jibes? Where you can get rum for $2 a bottle? I don't recall that Jibes has got a restaurant of their own, apart from their bar?

Good God, Denis! The restaurant at Jibes has some of the best "Western" food I've had anywhere in Asia.  They probably make the best club sandwich in the world, their pizza is superb, their pasta is fantastic too, and they do a buffet (Vietnamese and western) every saturday night which is worth checking out.  I'm sure there's a lot more good stuff on the menu which I haven't tried yet.  When you're sick and tired of terrible imitations of western dishes and want the real thing, Jibes is where you go.

Of course Lam Tong is great for local food, including cheap seafood.  The $2 rum comes from the shops outside; it's more exensive in the restaurant. It's only 30% alcohol (less than regular rum) so it's easy for one person to finish a bottle and start thinking about a second one...beware, it may be cheap but you pay for it the next day!

Hey Andrew, you are not doing part-time promotional work for Jibes, are you? OK, I'll try their food the next time I'm there ... when I get there . . if I get there again.  Grin
