Hi there,

I'd stop sailing for a few years due to laziness & other factor. However, I would like to sail once again. Care to advise if I should go thru the course again or shall I rent one & test out if I still remember how to sail.  Huh

Cheers!

I've heard that even after many years you can pretty much take up where you left off. Apparently it's one of those things you never forget, like riding a bike or scoring with your wife's younger sister.

Just go ahead, rent a board and rig and start sailing again.

That's one thing I guess I had totally forgotten is how to rig the sail to the boom. I remember my coach mentioned something about tying some unique knots... Anyway, thanks for the feedback. Will try it out.  Cheesy

Can't rig properly? NO PROBLEM!  Just go!

Here's a little video to get you motivated.  It was shot right here at East Coast:

Just ask anyone on the beach; that's what I used to do with good success.

Alternatively just secure it with a taut line half-hitch Gordian

Dear all,

Well, as I still don't feel confident, I took the 1 Day course. Actually, it's quite refreshing & I feel more confident. Thanks to Jeremy & Chris for their coaching. Do look forward for more practice in future. Need to nurse my bruises I got at the mean time....

Cheers!!!  Grin
