Dear fellow Windsurfers,

The time has come again for the most anticipated Regatta in the Singapore windsurfing calender, the SIM 30th Singapore Open Asian Windsurfing Championship 2011...!!!

The 2011 installment of the Singapore Open will also be the 30th anniversary of the event and Windsurfing Association Singapore (WAS) has been given the honor and privilege of hosted the 2011 Asian Windsurfing Championships for RS:X, Techno 293 and Mistral One-Design Classes by the International Windsurfing Association. Raceboard, IFCA Slalom and Formula Windsurfing has certainly not been left out, with these classes continuing under the Singapore Open banner. Also, in accordance with WAS's aim to grow windsurfing amongst schools in Singapore, the 2nd SIM Windsurfing Championship for Universities, Polytechnics and MOE students will also be held under the big umbrella of the Singapore Open.

The Asian Windsurfing Championships will be held from 12th to 16th January 2011, with registration on the 12th and official racing starting on the 13th of January 2011. Non-Asian Championship classes, Raceboard, Slalom, Formula Windsurfing, and the SIMWC, will see registration on 14th January, and actual racing on the 15th and 16th. Expect to see Asia's top windsurfers battle it out for top honors in this highly anticipated event. All eyes will be on Singapore and Windsurfing with media companies already engaged to cover both the Asian Championships and the Singapore Open event, with broadcast slated to be on local and foreign television and media. With generous sponsors SIM, 100PLUS, O'Neill, G-Shock, Block Up sunblock, Neil Pryde and many others. expect lots of prizes and even cash prizes, to be up for grabs!

Do visit the Windsurfing Association's website at www.SingaporeWindsurfing.org for the Notice of Race for the event and for more information pertaining to our event. For our dear windsurfers from overseas who are on this forum, please help to disseminate the details of the Singapore Open to your friends back home! Should you have any inquiries, please contact the WAS Honorary Secretary at Hon.Secretary@SingaporeWindsurfing.org.

Calling all competitive and recreational windsurfers...! Gear up...!

ARE YOU READY...?

We have some Techno 293 rigs for charter if you are keen. If you want, you can always get the kids here to race in Slalom.
Also, just to spice things up a little, we have invited a Neil Pryde Pro to come join in the SG Open. He will be sailing either in Slalom or Formula, and will most probably be conducting a talk and a windsurfing clinic. Wink

umm...Tim...you will let us know, won't you?  The more secret it is, the fewer people will know about it...and the fewer people will come.

When was the last time you went somewhere to see someone you didn't know was going to be there?

 Undecided  Huh  Roll Eyes

When I know, everyone will know... Smiley Neil Pryde is still confirming things...
But so far, for the RSX class, Olympic Bronze Medalist Bryony Shaw and the current Youth Worlds champion is confirmed coming.
Hong Kong sending their Elite squads and Youth Squads too.

Dear all, the Windsurfing Association Singapore is pleased to present Anders Bringdal (SWE-10), who will be conducting a Windsurfing Clinic on 9th Jan 2011 at 2pm at PA ECWV. His clinic will be themed "Going Fast, Fine Tuning your Race Equipment".

Anders will be discussing the features of today's equipment as well as how to fine tune and rig your equipment to get you moving faster. Expect some great tips from this 4-time World Champion, with his more recent accolade being at the 2009 Karpathos International Speed World Cup where he came in 3rd, behind Finian Mynard and Antoine Albeau and being at the top of the Overall Men's 2010 ISWC Ranking.

See you on Sunday!

On Sunday, 9th Jan 2011,
2pm
at PA ECWV
Anders Bringdal (SWE-10), will be conducting a Windsurfing Clinic

If suddenly the NE wind turned out to be a CONSISTENTLY blowing EAST wind, WHITE CAPS on FLAT WATER.

Just a little survey on the turn up;

WHERE WILL YOU BE?

on shore or on water?
