I fully agree with you guys. The best place is on land with a batten as a tripod. Mabe I should tie a piece of cloth or something at the end of the batten so you all can see me from outside.

Taking from a boat or floating in the water is not easy as you will be rocking all the time. Anyway, a lot will depends on the condition.
