I have always thought this is a lot more "windsurfing forum" than windsurfing shop.
Whilst the closing of the "shop" is understandable, surely one of you geeky lot can maintain the "forum" ??
Whether I'm in Asia or UK, I like the banter, Event info, for sale stuff and (I hate to say it) the weather.
So, I hope it survives and rest assured if I could operate an Olivetti golf ball typewriter I would run it myself !
Happy Days.

hi sukhdev, what does it actually take to maintain this site? it's a pity that it's closing down since i've relied on this site for all of my second hand gear...

thanks!

I reckon one of the Moreno twins has paid to have it shutdown after that hairy armpits thread.

Damn shame though. The site closing down that is... not the hirsutism.

A hosting package is needed which basically covers webspace, database and domain-name. Setup of a forum software and import of the original data is not too complicated.

Happy to help out with whatever is needed (worked for years in IT) as I don't want to see this page disappearing.

Hear, hear, Roman ...of course, it costs money to maintain a website, although not so much these days.

A fundraising dinner?  Everybody brings a dish (pot luck) and chips in $10 - $20?  Easy peasy.

How about migrating to the Water Venture East Coast facebook page? There is a 'discussion' portion which serves as a forum.

That's one option, sure, but Facebook is not the same as a forum like this...there are major privacy issues.  For example, if you're on Facebook, people you don't even know can follow what you do and say, through your friends' accounts.  We're free from those sort of headaches here on Blufinz.

I've got something cooking here. But it's not fully ready yet.

Hate to see the site closed down though, it has many useful content.

I like the "blue"
Personally, I dont do faceache and so wouldnt want to see a reincarnation there.
Its not broken........
I dont mind contributing to the website fees if somebody else will do the typing.
PS
Sukhdev, when do the dot com and dot com dot sg names expire ?
