What's the wind like today? Is it worth your while going down to the club? Find out by going to twitter.com/WVECwind. Aaron has very kindly agreed to alert us by posting to this account when conditions are good. If anyone else would like to tweet into this account, especially those who go to the club regularly on weekdays, let me know and I will let you have the password.

Good one. Many Thanks. My “windy tree” often gets it wrong, so confirmation always welcomed. This Aaron guy must be a generous chap; but I guess it would be pushing it too far to ask him to also stand on the end of the pipe with a web-cam on his head.

Actually, there is a privately owned web-cam mounted at the club. It's been there for some time already. But you've got to be a good friend of its owner before he will let you access it.

Great service. Got a good hours planning session yesterday because of it, during an “early lunch appointment” Thanks. ...did you?
Your dubiety is unwarranted. Did you not know that it’s a universally accepted norm that everything posted on the internet is both true and accurate?

No updates since October 14th. Shame. Low interest or Aaron in prison or something?

There's a very reliable source of information on wind conditions at this site - http://weather.nea.gov.sg/MapControl.aspx?ds=RadarMaps#It's optimized for smart phones so the image is really small. The great thing about it is that it is updated every 5 mins. Click on Readings then Wind and you should get something that looks like the image below. Look for the data at Bedok which is a weather station very close to NSC, the National Sailing Centre.

Thanks, Denis...I saw that site ages ago and I've been trying to find it again ever since! Combined with the 70km radar and the Malaysia radar, this is about as good as anyone could ask for! How did you guys ever manage back in the pre-internet, pre mobile phone days?

How did you guys ever manage back in the pre-internet, pre mobile phone days? Cos back in those days, the wind was always reliable?
