that's cos yours truly has disabled everything except the forum & don't you have enough gear already (not forgetting the 2 div II layangs that you burnt & gave nightmares to the norfolk fire brigade, and that WildWings rig that is still at the bottom of balok bay). but seriously  i will try to get the articles back online soon as i've had quite a few requests for those.

meanwhile on an entirely "other" note, how is the location below for a speed course? talk about flat water...

If you like doing laps in the swimming pool, you might want to stock up on the energy drinks before diving in to this one.

It is more than 1,000 yards ( 1 kilometer)аlong, covers 20 acres (8,1 hectare), has a 115 ft (35 meter) DEEP END and аholds 66 million gallons (249 million liters) of water.

Yesterday the Guinness Book of Records named the vast pool beside the sea in Chile as the biggest in the world.

But if you fancy splashing out on one of your own - and you have the space to accommodate it - then beware:
This one took five years to build, cost nearly 1 billion $аand the annual maintenance bill will be 2 million.$

The man-made saltwater lagoon has been attracting huge crowds to the San Alfonso del Mar resort at Algarrobo,
аon Chile's southern coast, since it opened recently.

Its turquoise waters are so CRYSTAL CLEAR that you can see theаBOTTOM even in the DEEP END !

It dwarfs the world's second biggest pool, the Orthlieb - nicknamed the Big Splash - in MOROCCO, which is a mere 150 yards long and 100 yards wide.
An Olympicsize pool measures some 50 yards by 25 yards.

Chile's monster pool uses a computer- controlled suction and filtration system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation,

The sun warms the water to 26c, nine degrees warmer than the adjoining sea.

Chilean biochemist Fernando Fischmann, whose Crystal Lagoons Corporation designed the pool, said advanced engineering meant his company could build 'an impressive artificial paradise' even in inhospitable areas.

'As long as we have access to unlimited seawater, we can make it work, and it causes no damage to the ocean.'

?

?

All I can say is WOW!

Good thing its not Dubai or it would be full of dead bankers, property deveopers and footballers wives !
Actually, I live in a shoe box but I am building some very similar apartments for the students at UEA.
Perhaps I'm not completely illiterate. I get the prospective tenant to fill up a form first which gives me the parents address. I then google earth something it and see how big the house is.
Then I deciede what the rent will be. HoHo.
I probably grizzled first time round...........
Its a nice picture of a shop full of windsurfing things but cant I have a stock list.
If you need an old Cardex system in one of those nice steel cabinets, I'll gladly give you my old one. Then you can keep the stock up to date !!
The wind went a bit East today with some big waves. The 7.8 was just right with the trusty Hyper.
I've tried the little Thommen a couple of times but just not quite enough wind.
G'day.

Mr Singh,
To refresh your memory.
It was Wild Wind not wing and its resting happily in the Bay of Balok.
Remember Svein Rasmussen won the 1990 Kuantan PBA event on a Wild Wind sail.
The Norfolk Fire Service were indeed called out to a Layang Layang fire. It was only one I promise.
However, due to the astonishing amount of flammable shit the Penang Mafia Company used to build them, the fire was already out when the engine arrived !

Today it was 7.8 weather and the poor little RS60 looked forlorn on the beach and in need of a good blow.
The ex-tarts hairdresser (Ken Tan) turned up in a new Merc with all his dangling equipment.
Eager to drive straight back to the young wife (and new baby-Christ the bstd is old enough to be everybody's uncle-shouldnt be allowed at his age ) in KL, he locked the keys in the boot.
Well actually he managed to close the boot trapping them between the lid and the rear screen. Dickhead.
With the luck of the Irish (Chinese) there were 3 German engineers in the beach bar who worked for...........yes right in one ......Mercedes.
I tell you that bloke could fall in a bucket of shit and come out smelling of roses !
So they quickly poked here and there with Teutonic efficiency and way too much muscle and Ken was on his way.
In other news (1)..........WTF is wrong with Jack Neo ? Why didnt he just drive them to Kuantan. His secret(s) would have been very safe with me.
But what I really want to know is where I can get my car "specially furnished" like his ? (According to The Star "the encounters had been taking place twice a week, often at the back of his specially furnished vehicle")
Bloody hell when I was young, the back of any car seemed pretty good.
(2) "A 62 year old grandmother was slapped with a RM 2000 fine for khalwat with a 41 year old man........in a shop house"........Granny paid the fine.
Oh my...

Nothing unethical about this rent pricing system at all...as long as I can charge all my drinks to your account in future, I'm sure your clients will never have cause for concern ;-)

Mr Warren, I duly stand corrected. Re Mr Neo, I guess he took "stand up for singapore" very literally. Re specially furnished, why bother, do it standing up windsurfing style. Re the granny & khaltwat: i'm sorry the 41 year old beat you to it, you will just have to be faster the next time. Re the rest catch up in KL for a beer, i'm neck deep in house renovation now...
