Kuantan was quiet Monday, 9.0 on Tuesday and very girly (9.9) on Weds.
Its NE though.
Time for some ornithology, dog walking and cycling.

Great NE wind THursday 7.8 for fat bstds.
Today started with 7.8 and then up to 9.0.
It was high tide, goats lying down and those funny beetles that fly 1000 miles to Balok beach, mate and then roll over and die are back.
So thts why its windy........

Excuse me, I thought that bottle was for me.
But yeah, another windy day here today too, up to 14 knots, SE, shiok.
It tends to switch on around noon, (suddenly caps), then ever so slowly turns to East, then ENE and then, for us at PA, a few final gasps, before it swings to NE.
Joshua and I are firmly in the seabreeze camp now, but other peeps believe it's the result of the daily inland storms that are drawing in air currents.
Whatever the cause, I say the more the merrier.

I got a text message from a Kitesurfer saying it was a steady 20 kts!
I guess it's all relative ;-)

What inland storms are you talking about? We haven't had any decent rain for ages!

Actually Denis, I know that it's rained quite a few times this week around the Chua Chu Kang. Granted, storm-wise nothing major though.
But, as I said, storms or no storms, I think the SE winds we've been getting are more thermal-driven than storm-driven. I wonder if there's any research papers available on this kinda thing....

You are probably right, Norman. It was blowing NE all day at Changi. It's only on the east coast that the wind bends around to come from ESE. It also explains why it is strongest in the early afternoon when it is hottest and in the late afternoon when the land mass starts cooling down the wind swings back to NE. Whatever it is, more of the same tomorrow?

I don't know how you could even use the word "butt"; we are talking about a kitesurfer, show some sensitivity

Only aussie kiters are sensitive. Anything else around the island can kick you butt if they ever want to.

Hahaha! I doubt that very much!
Not even on their best day, my friend! But thanks for letting me start the week with a good laugh!
