Yeah, pretty decent E/SE today. It lasted about an hour, not strong - at most gusting 12kts - but it could be a sign of things to come.

The NEA peeps told me May. Apparently they're replacing the current system with a brand spanking new one.

BTW, shiok SE yesterday, a bit patchy and a few lulls but touching 14 kts at times. A good time was had by (almost) all.

Working as we speak, Mister Ian. But Ulf is up to 9 kts already, so standing by Smiley

BTW, Blackhawk, at PA it was mostly SE yesterday, although at the end of the arvo it dropped like a stone and swung NE.

I was lucky enough to arrive in time for a decent sail (purely by chance, as I had no idea it was blowing) -- but a few unlucky ones got there late and rigged up just as the wind was dropping.  And drop it did, really fast.

Seems like the full-timers are the only ones who got it, and most of the sailors waiting on standby missed out again.  Quite a few of us are available to sail weekdays but can't really wait around at the beach all day long due to other commitments, so we have to keep watching the phone and the internet.

Undecided

Norman, dear fellow, in less than half the time it took you to write your post-sail wrap-up for Blufinz (which is not much use to anybody, really, but it probably makes you feel good), you could've typed the word "wind" into your handphone when it was actually blowing, and SMS'ed it to a half-dozen or so of the regular weekday standby sailors.  Make a list; you've already got my number.  I'll pass the message on to 3 or more others.  Any one of us will be glad to reimburse your SMS charges, if we get the wind.  That is, unless you'd rather just get all the wind yourself and then gloat about it afterwards?

Imagine - doing a good deed, helping others enjoy their windsurfing, AND possibly saving yourself from further bashing on the forums?  How can you lose?

Forecast?  Let me guess, it might blow - and then it might not.

 Roll Eyes

FYI, today, the SW hit for 3 solid hours of 10-12 kts, followed by an Easterly storm for the latecomers, and if you didn't make it I am truly deeply sorry.  I'm tired and sunburnt and planning to get drunk.  Woo hoo!

My theory is that the Wind God was flying over Singapore in his mighty chariot, and he accidently dropped that bit of SW on us.  Don't worry, he'll take it off our annual allotment, mark my words...
