I was lucky enough to arrive in time for a decent sail (purely by chance, as I had no idea it was blowing) -- but a few unlucky ones got there late and rigged up just as the wind was dropping. And drop it did, really fast.
Seems like the full-timers are the only ones who got it, and most of the sailors waiting on standby missed out again. Quite a few of us are available to sail weekdays but can't really wait around at the beach all day long due to other commitments, so we have to keep watching the phone and the internet.

Norman, dear fellow, in less than half the time it took you to write your post-sail wrap-up for Blufinz (which is not much use to anybody, really, but it probably makes you feel good), you could've typed the word "wind" into your handphone when it was actually blowing, and SMS'ed it to a half-dozen or so of the regular weekday standby sailors. Make a list; you've already got my number. I'll pass the message on to 3 or more others. Any one of us will be glad to reimburse your SMS charges, if we get the wind. That is, unless you'd rather just get all the wind yourself and then gloat about it afterwards?
Imagine - doing a good deed, helping others enjoy their windsurfing, AND possibly saving yourself from further bashing on the forums? How can you lose?
