Why would you want to know?  Are you one of those people who like reading bad news?    Cheesy

I saw a web cam at PA and heard that it belongs to the NTU windsurfing club.

Can someone confirm that the web camera is working and provide the link?

Compliment to Ulfp.

Check this during Jun - Sep for south west storm. If you see a storm approaching from S-W or S-E it will push the wind in .

To see the current wind reading at Changi. usually about 8knots , Formula board will be able to plane. Not always accurate but if the reading remain high for 3 bar, usually enough wind to sail.

For general wind pattern or if any depression/hurricane up north.

I'll pass you Norman's phone number; he'll be happy to run down to the club and give you a wind reading anytime.

I’ve figured that wind on the day or approaching squalls can’t be predicted too far in advance, but those of us that need to schedule in our trips to PA a day or two in advance need a little help or hope to maximise our chances.

So outside of the NE I look to favour days where windguru & the BBC are predicting cross-shore winds of >=6kn or 11mph respectively, especially if they’re also saying sunny.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/1735#n5:M

(Windguru Desaru during NE monsoon)

Seems to help, but I’ve not been here long enough or spent enough time at the beach to be sure I’m not just kidding myself.

Good research, Phil.  You will find that the BBC long-range forecasts are always spot on.
