Hi all,

I think maybe it is hard to get a second hand long board.

If i buy a new long board, can someone recommend me a good model? I am a beginner in windsurf.

I prefer a lighter, easy to carry board and hopefully not too long.

My weight = 73kg.

Do you think starboard "Beginner's windsurf board Starboard Windsurf RIO S/M/L" is a good one for me?

Thanks

A longboard need to be long so that it could glide better in light wind.

For Starboard range, we recommend :

- Rio M : Good allround Longboard for progressive learning

- Phantom 320 : This allow the user to have the same board to intermediate level. Can be competitive against the BIC Tecno and probably better re-sale value later.

- SUPer : Funboard ,  Can be used as a SUP ( Stand-Up-Paddle) when no wind.

Hi PJ,

Phantom 320 is narrower than RIO M, right?

This will make this hard to jibe. Am i right?

Hi

Both board will not be too difficult to gybe. Rio will be good for now to Intermediate,
Phantom can be used from now to advance level. If you are at PA, I can show you both boards.

I will PM you the prices . If you need more info can call me at 97322801.
We are the Starboard Distributor for Singapore.

Hi PJ,

I come across another type of beginner board. Mistral Malibu.

This board is much lighter and shorter compare to Starboard Rio S.

Starboard Rio S -> Vol = 175l, Length=269, Width=76, Weight=14.1

Mistral Malibu -> Vol = 110l, Length=238, Width=68, Weight=8.9

Do you think which board is better for beginner to intermediate?
