Anyone sailed near Pangkor?
«

I'll be making a trip there.
Anyone sailed here, in Pangkor or the surrounding beaches on the coastline of Perak etc? Review?
Known spots are Pantai Remis & Royal Bay of the Pulau Pangkor Laut. Are there any other spots?
Any idea how the wind is like, current, weather etc. When is the best season?
Cheers

Go big or go home ! Fickle wind.
Years ago at a Lumut regatta I watched the fleet going backwards to the start line !!
No wind and the current in the channel taking them away from the line !
There was some wind later though and we raced (I think) up the river to the Perak Yacht Club
and back.
In those days, we were allowed to stay at the Navy base.
Happy Days !

Thanks George.
Where exactly is this Perak Yacht Club? Can I use their water for washing etc?
If possible I want to avoid drifting in the strong current as I'd probably be alone all the time, so there won't be anybody to tow me back in case shit happens.

no web site apparently.
I recall leaving the Navy Base going up the channel a bit and then turning right into another rivermouth and it was a mile or 2 down there...........
Take flares, jetski back up and condoms just in case..........
