Jus you flatter me man! Actually, I'm not a extreme kinda person. Just a normal guy who likes doing windsurfing for leisure. Nothing like a good day out with all your friends planing with you side by side during NE all the way to Tanah Merah or to Intl waters....heh heh!

Hiya B-mouz,
actually, i was refering to Surf Shark's high wind or no wind attitude.
But hey, anyone who gets out in no wind to practice sail control & freestyle tricks is damned dedicated and definitely has my full respect.
saw hiwindjunkie go out in no wind and do lots of crazy sail flips before, and was so impressed that i went out to try it a few times and found that its so damn frustrating. it takes a hell of lot of will power to get up on the board, uphual and try that move again. hiwindjunkie is my hero!!!
for me if there is no wind, i will just sit on the beach & bitch alot to my frens how terrible it is. heh heh. somehow i am never satisfied unless there good wind and lots of chops. need the adrenalin!!!!! its like a drug. nothing feels as good as getting air! except for feeling u get when u go full trottle down the face of a wave.

Jus, not exactly lah, only if the wind is strong and steady, esp during the NE monsoon. Don't wanna get caught in the lulls drifting back to PFSSC.

Thanks for the offer, but I dunno whether i can handle sinkers yet. Been floating around on high volume boards here in SG for too long, thanks to the wind conditions here....=/

i've only made trips in summer, waves are small then..tiny to non existent by their local standards..just right for first timers. i gather april/march has best combo of wind/waves. you may want to ask over at gaastra's wave forum. locally phong has probably made the most trips..maybe he can chime in (he just got back from another trip).
last time i sailed hookipa was with jchang and yiming. launching is kind of funky, tiny stretch of beach. rocks to the left, rocks to the right. only tricky bit is launching and coming in..when coming in, head right in till your fin hits sand almost..yiming did the usual singapore stop and jump down when about hip deep and to his (and our) suprise the rip started pulling him sideways. in summer the most dangerous thing in hookipa is other sailors, look before you gybe.
and dont water start by kicking down in maui..the coral is razor sharp, wear booties, not cool looking but you will be glad you did.

Hi Pascal
You have a nice range of boards. Could you tell me more about the waves that you have in Vietnam? Are they reef breaks? What wind direction in relation to waves. How big does the surf get? Is it any good for surfing if so what kind of waves (hollow)?
Thanks for the attention. Look forward to the reply.
Cheers
Peter Mana Mana
Wish we had wind
