About 20 of us from PA will be visiting windy Mui Ne from the 15th to the 22nd, with coincides with the race. But I dont think anyone is bringing slalom gear.

People...if you havent raced before, this is undoubtedly the Event to start at !! Its low key (but very well organised) with no pressure. Good friendly crowd and as Pascal says plenty of equipment to rent / steal / borrow so you really dont need any fancy slalom stuff. Last time I went, I simply grabbed a GO board and went racing. Of course the lightweights were flying about but I had a good time. The NOA lycra is well worth the entry fee ! Lifes a beach.......... You only come here once..... Better just do it.... I'm Tiger Woods.

I was going to say the same thing. Everybody has fun, there are prizes and giveaways, the start/finish line is at the beach which is great, and the party afterwards is more than worth the price of entry (which goes to help orphans, btw). Pascal really knows how to throw a party! After the last one, I didn't drink for a month!
