Guys, me and a couple of friends have set up a place next to the MPK site i.e Batu Balok where you can store your gear overnight. The water here is also safer for launching. Facilities like toilets and water for washing is also available. Everything is free Grin

You are more than welcome!  Smiley

The wind is great, it has been very consistent since forever.
My only complain was the high dumpers at Duta Village, very difficult (and risky) for launching.
Now problem solved  Grin

last year, the race was held there....great place to store your rigged rigs.
safer water to beachstart due to the sheltering rocks

much better than the usual sandy places for windsurfing activities...

Yes. It is safer especially for those with long fins and big sails.

Another reason to sail here are the endless specters. Sometimes you need that 'cool' factor as you walk with your rig to the beach. The more cool factor, the lighter the weight in your hand.

For those contemplating to come or not, Kuantan is blowing " CONSISTENTLY" 15-20 Knots .  Grin

Wind is dense and pack. K21 is on 6.5m and I m happy on my isonic 111 with a small fin. Is blowing like this  the last few days and looking forward to another awesome day tomorrow.

Our friends staying in Kuantan are lucky. Like Meng says, we have all the pro gears in Singapore but sad to say no wind.

Happy Birthday to my beloved wife Cheesy

Kuantan is not just sailing. The food here is excellent. This trip somehow I find Ah Soon ( frequent by the locals ) not as great as before. We enjoyed Pak Su ( not related to me ). Many years back we wonder why no good seafood in Kuantan. Nowadays you get lobster, crab...swimming in the tank.  Living standard has definitely improved. Dongpo Chicken ( deep fried Kampong chicken then steam in soya sauce.) and steam Patin fish are chef recommendations. BTW still yet to check out the famous Bakuteh, RotiPrata and Satay.

Started sailing at 3pm. LS is out on his formula 162+9.8m and I am on my only iSonic111+7.7 , Wind is about 12-15 Knts and we are all planeing comfortably. LS is training hard for SingOpen so Meng better watch out. By 6pm, the wind pickup to almost 18 knts and the waves came in. I did some good runs with Eddy on his 9m and he is going as fast on his Free formula. It shows how modern equipments can handle the wide wind range.

Will upload some pictures when I am back.

Another epic day in Kuantan. Honking for the whole day since last night. Wan says is 20 knts out there. Wind brought the wave and it was quite scary to go out in the dumpers. Have my best session so far sailing with George , Though we were sailing side by side but because of the wave, I can only see his mast tip.

Can someone tell me how to sail when the wind is blocked by the high waves Huh Huh

I met our friend humongous. Yeoh , Eric and Richard. It will be a big surprise tomorrow if we see Sukhdev sailing again after 4 yrs.  I missed the good old days when you see at least 10 cars from Dehru going out for dinner together. Where is everybody ?

You cannot sail in high waves, but you can avoid high waves. Too bad for you PJ because you're stuck at Swiss Garden with your family. Otherwise you could join our BBQ party today and have some serious fun in the flat water over Batu Balok Grin

Oh BTW PJ, we're having seafood BBQ tomorrow. You & your family, also Sukhdev are invited Smiley

Thanks for the invitation. Be our guest next time if you are in S'pore.

On the Last day wind was probably strongest. Got overpowered and have to wait till it calm down before attempting to sail. Nice to have Sukhdev to join us but his stay was too short. Coming back we were caught at 2nd link.  The entire stretch after Johor was jammed and took us 2 hrs to clear. Here are some pictures :

Sunrise at Kuantan

Good wind !

Sukhdev. Thanks for the photos
