deep tuttle slalom fins?

hi,
the new hypersonic specifies use of DEEP TUTTLE fins, however, most slalom fins under 50cm are standard TUTTLE fins. been told that using longer bolts for standard boxes will work, and will allow greater fin compatibility with other boards.
question:
will this work? safe way around problem?
thanks!

Wearn Haw,
the finbox is a deep tuttle box but this does not mean you have to use deep tuttle fins; in fact both the 34cm and the 44cm that come with the board are TUTTLE head (ie 5cm span at front of fin head).
The screws that come with the board fit both fins. So there is no compatability issue. The fins I'm using (tectonics spitfire 42 and tectonics gold wing 36, 32) are all from my "old" slalom boards.
Deep Tuttle fins have a 7.5cm span at the front of the fin head. Given that you don't need more than 44cm on the board, its really moot whether you would ever want to use a real deep tuttle fin.
I'm very happy with a 42cm fin for 9.0 and 7.5 use, though 36cm would suit 7.5 perfectly. Had some simply magical runs on the board 2 days ago..sppeeeeeedddd!
hope this helps...

This is incredible. You actually know the measurement of the different fin heads???

Hi Sinwind,
knowing those measurements is a consequence of too many hulls spec'ed for my own use...don't even get me started on track positions, footstrap spread, rail shapes, rocker lines....!!
