Btw, will there be any clinic for recreational racing sailor on slalom or freeride boards?? I think alot of us are on these type of boards and it will be great if Thye Hock can give us some pointers or two on these.

What says u Thye??

slalom or freerides clinic can best held when the wind is more stable preferably during Monsoon season.
if u can, informal clinic sessions at Changi beach will be ideal during Monsoon season as the wind is strong, consistent and blowing right on the beach.

Hi all,

For a start I'm thinking of sail design, draft stability, leech line tension, batten cross tension, mast selection and sail control. Some reading on "Centre of Effort" and "Apparent Wind" will help a lot in understanding the topic better.

If we can gather a small group in the evening of 26 July (after NSC race) or likewise mid Aug.

Meng do you have anything to add.

Thank you Thye Hock for doing the very informative clinic last Saturday. Due to time constraint we covered only sail rigging. Very Sorry for Wen and others that have missed the clinic . We will try to find time on some windless afternoon to hold more clinics in PA

If you have any specific questions on sail rigging , techniques .... pls post it here, Thye Hock , Meng and myself will try our best to answer.

Hi PJ, Thye Hock & Meng.... seeing the things you guys have been doing at PA in 2008, any chance of reviving these sessions now? It's great how u guys contribute to the popularity of the sport and it'd be wonderful if such sessions can be held again, of cos, if there's sufficient interest. It cud be a generic session on sail rigging, technical stuff that's applied to a wide range of boards, not just formula. I'm sailing formula and hope to advance to a shorter board in the near future. Free will be great but I dun mind contributing a small amount for your time. Thank you.

hi Ping,

there are actually informal sessions held at PA especially on weekends.
u can easily identify one the hardcore Formula sailors around particularly with sail no. on it.

we will be glad to share our thoughts and experience with u on the things that u want to know and seek.
most of us can sail shortboards but the wind condition is usually Formula 'friendly' so we stay on Formula and save some $ on extra gear.

feel free to approach us.

happy sailing
