PRELIMINARY NOTICE OF RACE

      1.  THE EVENT
The Kuantan Challenge will be held on February 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Kompleks Pelancongan Dan Rekreasi Pantai Balok  (MALAYSIA).  Pantai Balok is located in the warm and windy on East Coast of Malaysia.  Registration will be held at Pantai Balok.

2.  ORGANIZER
The Kuantan Challenge is organized by Balok Beach Wind Sport Centre under main sponsorship, Pahang Tourism Centre.

3.  VENUE & WEATHER
Racing will take place at Balok Beach in Kuantan, Pahang.  The site is located only 45 minutes from the Kuantan Airport.  During November – March the weather conditions are: AVERAGE WIND 15-20 KNOTS; WATER TEMPERATURE: 37ºF; AVERAGE AIR TEMP: 37ºC.  NO WETSUITS ARE REQUIRED!!!!

4.  RULES
This event will be governed by RRS 2005-2008 ISF Racing Rules Of Sailing (RRS), the class rules of all participating classes, this Notice Of Race (NoR) and the Sailing Instructions.

8.  SAIL NUMBERS
All sailors and Pilot shall have unique and legible sail numbers.

9.  LIABILITY
Competitors take part in all races at their own risk.  The Organizing Authority or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives is not responsible, under any circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or equipment, which may result.  Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at sole discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk.

10.  SAILING INSTRUCTIONS/EVENT PROGRAMME
The Sailing Instructions and The Event Programme containing social events will be available at registration.
