Norman,
Why don't you upload to this site the GPS track you obtained on 23 July 2008?  It will be interesting to see what speeds it comes up with.

http://www.sportstracklive.com/track/detail/JPCuaycong/Windsurfing/Villarosa-beach/fun/4260    max:31.19kts

wind on both days: 15-18kts slight chop and swell

Real happy with these as they were the first 2 sessions of the Northeast monsoon and i really was surprised. Regards

Hi jp747,

What's Bacolod like for windsurfing?  Got any photos?  How do you get there from Manila?  What about accommodation?

Hi Dennis, Bacolod has good winds for some reason the local topography of mountains help funnel however our waters 40kms north and south of us is a bit choco brown to greenish then blue as you head out. Better to go to Boracay Island where it blows 5kts more than we do cuz it's really open but damn expensive unless you know where to book..but if you want to come over and don't mind the sandy bottom without corals then from Manila it's a 50$us 1hr. flight and we'd be happy to pick you up..there are only 6-8active windsurfers and on a weekend that's it the 5 of us if we can sms each other to go there to Villarosa bch a 15mins away and arrive all together in time..stay here is super cheap a good single rm a/c and all is about 10-15us$ in a good hotel and lesser in a lower pension house..will try to get an old photo and upload to this site ;)regards jp  johncuaycong@yahoo.com

14 Jan 2010.  28.5 knots max speed near Keta

JP Slalom VI 101, C3 36cm fin, 7.0m RSR-Evo II

Conditions were slightly choppy but gusty up to 18-20knots.

First time out on the board so more to come!  Witness Sotong
