Norman,
Why don't you upload to this site the GPS track you obtained on 23 July 2008? It will be interesting to see what speeds it comes up with.

Hi jp747,
What's Bacolod like for windsurfing? Got any photos? How do you get there from Manila? What about accommodation?

Hi Dennis, Bacolod has good winds for some reason the local topography of mountains help funnel however our waters 40kms north and south of us is a bit choco brown to greenish then blue as you head out. Better to go to Boracay Island where it blows 5kts more than we do cuz it's really open but damn expensive unless you know where to book..but if you want to come over and don't mind the sandy bottom without corals then from Manila it's a 50$us 1hr. flight and we'd be happy to pick you up..there are only 6-8active windsurfers and on a weekend that's it the 5 of us if we can sms each other to go there to Villarosa bch a 15mins away and arrive all together in time..stay here is super cheap a good single rm a/c and all is about 10-15us$ in a good hotel and lesser in a lower pension house..will try to get an old photo and upload to this site ;)regards jp

Agreed - because it's all fun - although we don't take GPS scores too seriously here; we all know that in Singapore a GPS speed is really more about finding the (rare) conditions needed to go fast, than it is about being a better sailor or anything like that...right?

Hello here are two gps results from one track posted on both:
http://www.sportstracklive.com/track/detail/JPCuaycong/Windsurfing/Villarosa-beach/fun/137921
29.92kts. max
http://www.ka72.com/Results.aspx
30.02kts. max
I have put all comments in regards to conditions and equipment on sportstracklive. KA72 just gives you the basic info.
There is a difference of .10 but it doesn't matter as the averages are pretty close. Regards

Hello guys I'd like to share my fastest 2sec. peak speed to date. It was on the last run because I catapulted hard and hurt my arm.

max. 31.40kts
board: kinetic gladiator 95ltrs. 5.5 evo2 mfc30cm
and I know this is a windsurfing forum but would like to include a kite track using a switchblade old model 12mtr. and lab rat cabrinha 150cm.
http://www.sportstracklive.com/track/detail/JPCuaycong/Kiteboarding/Villarosa-beach/missed-Annika/20079

JP,
On the satellite photo, Villarosa Beach looks terribly muddy. Is it really that bad?

Hi Dennis, that's a low tide picture..however you are right it's 70% sandy and muddy in some places where there is silt run-off from the river up above..but on the positive side when it's light brown no corals to deal and we haven't ever broken fins because of this. I hit another 31.07kts. again..yess!
http://www.sportstracklive.com/track/detail/JPCuaycong/Windsurfing/Villarosa-beach/fun/146395
and from KA72.com speed reader at same speed..
http://www.ka72.com/TrackRecalc.aspx?fid=13220
Am damn happy as I was using the same equipment as last and testing my wrist if it was fine still hurts but bearable..Regards
