Hi Sukhdev,

Regarding fins for 147, Im 85kg and will be only using 10.9 as largest sail.  I have a 70cm med Selet Elite from last season any thoughts on how that would preform in the 147.

I have also got a opportunity to get hold of some R13s in various stiffness'e 70cm and thoughts which one would suit me the best for the 10.9.

med med+ hard etc

I would like to piont high, as opposed to low and speed

I appreciate lots of questions but you are in an envious position of being able to test the board.

Mine arrive next week.
Cheers Allan Cross

Hi Alan,

no experience with the Select, I'd suggest you test out the stock fin first when you get the board. The stock fin is an improvement over the previous ones which tended to be a bit variable in performance (I'm trying to be subtle here).

Re Debs, I like the R13H and I'm about the same weight. For me that would be the fin of choice for a 10.9. I was going to test the board with a 9.0 and R1366H but work and variable wind hasnt allowed me to do that; will share my impressions once I do so.

The hull seems to lend itself to using speed to point vs the 186 say which uses grunt to point; not sure if you get what I mean. Less fin/faster fin and less sail/faster sail setting seems to do it for this hull but its early days yet.

This hull is a different beast altogether, going to be some time before I have everything wired, but I like the sailing feel.

My sympathies re the cold, I have memories of learning to windsurf with frozen hands using a wooden boom on the Hamble in 1980 (god i'm old!).
