http://www.nea.gov.sg/cms/mss/rainareas/rainareas.html

But be careful when sailing in storms. Watch out for lightning.

No wind can drink beer. Bulk up for northeast

Funny puppie.  Cheesy

This one is my favorite crystal ball, never lets me down:

http://intranet.mssinet.gov.sg/pub/gif/rad70.gif

Rule of thumb:

- green: rain
- greenish-blue: usually drab weather, but occassionally bonus honking
- yellow: anything from big sails down to wave
- red: likely overpowering for big sails, rest is having fun
- pink: run to mummy

Also, the larger the storm, the bigger and the longer the wind. But don't bank on this coz sometimes it's totally topsy-turvy.

In order to see which way the storm is headed, you can open the image in 2 windows and then refresh one window. The difference tells you the storm path.

But be careful when sailing in storms. Watch out for lightning.

Ya, agreed, watch out for lightning eh Vince. And best leave the offshore storms alone also.

Cya out there.

SW - May-Sep use this :
http://www.ulfp.com/ulfp/mod_animate/view.asp?ID=1
If the storm is building up at SE or SW, it usually comes in and the intensity depends on the colour.

If no storm or NE use this :
http://www.ulfp.com/ulfp/mod_wind/winddaytab.asp
wind at PA for NE will be about 2 knots less since the wind at Changi is direct
and if more than 2 bars above 10knots usually is plannable for big boards.

You will realize most of us depends on Ulfp website for forecast. Talk to him , I think he can help to download the current wind reading into yr mobile.

Or, you can try to persuade the weekday regulars at PA to put you on their SMS wind alert list.
