Maybe somebody can advise me...

I'm on a formula board, 8m sail...

Sailing across the wind, or slightly offwind, I always find my board wants to head up into the wind. I have to keep leaning my rig forward or I quickly turn too far upwind and end up in trouble. I shouldn't need to lean my rig forward all the time when reaching, should I?   This isn't just a harness problem, because even if I unhook, it's still happening.  It's a constant struggle.

Is it my new sail? maybe my foot position?  I try keeping my feet in the centreline of the board. (forget footstraps for now!)

Smudge,
It was the simplest thing in the world...foot position.  I was moving my back foot too far to the rear, and that causes the board to steer upwind. Duh.  Stepping forward a bit took care of it.
This is pre-planing. When planing, the rules change a bit.
