And another question...

My sail has two cams, and the lower one doesn't set properly on one side; I have to push it with my hand to get it really in place.  Does something need adjusting or lubricating?  Also my lower batten refuses to set easily (on the opposite side to the unruly cam) and I have to nudge it with my knee to make it change shape.  This is with a decent breeze, and after a few good pumps of the boom.
Advice?

hi Popeye,

i faced a similar problem too (the lowest baton can't seem to set well). could u share what u did to the downhaul?

i am currently using a retro 7m2. sail settings are as follows;

luff : 281 - 285
mast extension : 22cm
mast length : 260cm

i've checked and it seems that there the leech is loose enough in the top 3 sections.

should i increase the mast extension? or increase outhaul?

popeye,

hope my suggestion is not too late.
u can try to spray the mast with can of SailKote.
u can get it at MarineTech in town.

i always use it on my cams, aids rotations.

happy sailing
