Guys in Singapore,

Please give me some advice that where could I go to windsurf.  I am planning to stay for the long weekend from 17th to 19th September in Singapore.

Someone told me the East Coast of Singapore, and  other one told me Mana Mana Resort in Bintan Island could good.

What's the wind like in Singapore at this time of the year?

Wish to know if I will have a chance to enjoy a stronger wind than in Hong Kong.
I usually enjoy it at 15 to 20 knots in Hong Kong, but may be only 10 times in a year.

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Jacky.

Leave behind the skyscrapers and busy shipping channels and go to ManaMana.
Great beaches, good equipment, sun, guaranteed wind.
Magic.

Hi Jacky,

Unfortunately,
I heard September Will be no wind generally.
So,
It might be less than 15 knots.
However,
I don't really know the truth of the matter.
What about the truth?

enjoy~

Mana Mana can have wind this time of the year. But at this time the prevailing wind is SW/SE so will be off shore, so you need to get well outside of the bay to get the wind. Check RH's posts on Bintan Blast.
From Dec-Mar the wind switches to NE so is cross onshore
If its blowing in S'pore it tend to be windier in Mana Mana

Hi Zaru-Soba,

I usually sail at Kemigawa beach weekends.
Kemigawa beach is close to Odaiba.
Both beachs are familiar to windsurfer in this area.

I found the map someone has made.
You could check where beach is.
http://www.interq.or.jp/blue/lagoon/indexe.htm

So,
If typhoon goes through sea of japan,
We could have fun with strong wind at Odaiba.
It'll be safety, if you have enough skill.

However,
Odaiba is difficult to pridict wind.
Wind doesn't stay constant.
Because Odaiba is almost surrounded by architecture, like building , birdge.

FYI,
The most famous beach in japan is Omaezaki as for wave.
Freestyle is popular at Lake Motosu.

Hi ZaruSoba,//konbanwa!

Wow!
Are you familiar with Omaezaki?
Could it be that you have ever been to Omaezaki?

It's maybe true, but please check this site
and cheak some pictures.
(It's most famous shop site in japan, I think).
http://www15.ocn.ne.jp/~iwamoto3/omaezaki_condition/2004_08_20pm/page.htm

How do you feel?
Those wave are better in japan.
If my memory is correct,
This wave is caused by a typhoon.
This summer,A lot of typhoon has came.
And south wind was more blowing than usual.
So, This summer is really great for us.

BTW,
Those wave are too tough for me to ride...

enjoy~
