Every weekend when I go to PA and wait for the wind, I see that they are running windsurfing classes. You can find their number at  http://www.passc.gov.sg/passc/clubs/map_ecssc.htm

(I have also seen information about PA at the site http://www.paym.org.sg/seasports/, but  the design of that site is a disaster ...)

I am curious, Ulf.  A disaster in what sense?  Do you mean artistically, contentwise or technically?

A few years ago, I read some studies that concluded that the average internet user waits for up to 8 seconds when a web page is displayed, if the user don't see what he/she is looking for within that time, he/she moves on...

My patient is shorter than that, and when I tried some of the pages, I see nothing unless I WAIT (for what seems like an eternity) for the text to slowly scroll by...

Perhaps "disaster" was a bit harsh (I’ll take that back with apologies), and "not so user friendly" would have been more appropriate.

Yes, I agree with you.  8 seconds on broadband is equivalent to more than a minute on dialup.  One more thing that annoys me is websites designed only for IE and do not work on other browsers.

"JaneDoe", sorry for the off-topic discussion in your thread, but since we already got started we might as well go on...

Well, reality is that 90+% of users are on Windows (i.e. have access to IE), and 80+% are using IE, so if you have limited time/resources for your web site development, you would probably make sure it works for IE first...

From an earlier discussion, I recall that sukhdev is trying to test his site with most well-known browsers and he should have credit for that.

Ulf,

I've seen you occasionally at PA.  I must come up and introduce myself.
