Hi all,

Well after the boom settings, am starting to get the gist of things, however I am not quite there yet towards fine tunning the sail as per the suggestions on bluefinz website nor the gaastra matrix fine tunning page.

I still dont manage to have some looseness on the top 2 battons but from the 3rd batton down I am getting the curve very well, I have tried to loosen the outhaul and the downhaul accordingly but still nothing.

Any ideas on this would help, Oh one final question, the top part of the sail where the mast sticks out, I have the mast pole tucked in snug with the sail is this setting correct ?

Thanks

Desertsurfer,

Eid mubarak!

Could you email me a digital picture of the sail as you have set it up? that would be the easiest way to see what needs tuning. If you can, take a few shots similar to the ones shown in the gallery on the article on racing tuning your sail.

Hi,

recieved the pictures and i have a good idea of what fixes are needed. I'll take some pictures of the same size/model of sail set up as it should be and send to you so that its easier to explain.

I'll set up a side by side gallery so that it makes more sense..bear with me till the weekend.

You've got it roughly right. The sail needs to be downhauled more, also the way the rope is threaded at the downhaul can be set up for easier pulling. Basically a good job, just need to increase the total tension in the rig.
