Hey guys! Found out about this forum by chance and guess what?

It's great!

Anyway, I am just starting out in my windsurfing "career". Hope you guys can give me some pointers!

1. Actually, the purpose of this msg is to find out the various places where I can get windsurfing gear....things like boards and accessories and aparrels etc etc.

2. Do you guys wear any top when you surf? Like rash guards and all? I find that the sun will kill me if I don't. Any good recommendations as to what, which and where to get them?

click on the url in the top right hand corner or at the bottom (bluefinz.com). go to the product section. plenty of boards and accesories.

re tops; i'm a cheap skate, attend the AWT events and you will get enough rash guards to last a life time..having said that we will have the starboard tiki rashies in soon.

What are AWT events? Are they races?

Actually I am looking more towards rash guards and surf shorts....you know...the works.... Really hope Bluefinz can bring them in soon....

join up anyway, you get to see some good sailng, talk to most of the best guys in this region, look at the gear, and go sailing yourself. most of the guys are really easy going and you'll get anything you ask answered sensibly. one nice thing about this sport, at least in this part of the world, not many prima donnas among the top sailors..the thai boys are just plain fun, throw in the occasional certified insane person like george warren and you've got a barrel of laughs.

ps my first ever race i couldnt figure out what they meant by start line. where?? what line??
2nd ever race i was last by a long bit, had to grit my teeth to finish...

the most important person in windsurfing is not the race winner, but the person who is stepping o a board for the first time.
