In terms of cost, friendliness, state of equipment, easy access?

I'm thinking PA East Coast but the walk is quite far, and transport isn't that easy. Cheap enough, at $16 for 2 hours, but got to pay for membership at $60 for 2 years, and then lockers are $1 per hour.

Any tips?

Steven,

PA is probably the most organized right now. I'm biased towards the Starboard STARTs at Pasta fresca as i think the wide ones make a big difference to learning but other than that I don't know of any other location. The rigs are PFresca are well..hm...old.. but if you want to work on basic technique then the wide boards will help tremendously.

steven,

PA does offer cheaper rental rates, however, u get wat u pay for. My friend broke 3!!!! mast foots during e 4 races held for the club baord category in the recently concluded PA windsurfing championship. I personally feel that pasta is a better choice bcos the equip is better maintained n i agree with Sukdhev that e Start Boards are very suitable for u if u are a beginner.

Thanks for the info.

I went down to PFresca on Monday afternoon and had a fun time with the START boards.

The wind only picked up after 4pm though. Is it the trend in Singapore that the winds blow later in the afternoons, and that 12 - 3 is a lull period?

I put on the biggest sails for rent but I don't know what size they were. Until the wind came up I was drifting along towards the seafood centre!

After the wind came up I went up to the Bedok Jetty and then it was time to go back! Still, had a fun time.

Cost:$22 for 2 hours + $10 refundable deposit.

I don't know how to use the harness, although I saw some hanging out. Are they available for renters to use? What about the loops that have to be attached to the boom, I didn't see them anywhere...

Thanks.

Steven, glad you had fun. Re the loops (harness lines) ask either Sudin or Robert and they'll fix you up. Re harness I'd suggest starting with a waist harness as its quite a bit easier to hook in-hook out with them. One word of warning though, this can become a lifelong addiction...
