Hello,
I guess I am at early interediate level and want to move onto some better gear.  I am displaying all the symptoms of being a speed freak   , and clearly need better/faster light wind gear for Singapore: I am a strong 98kg and currently use a 7.9m camless sail and a starboard (older model and I don;t know the model no.).
Having read much of the good advice on this site, I want to get a formula board and would appreciate it if you could advise which of the Starboard formula options would be best for my weight and desire to go fast in most Singapore conditions.  Additionally, lightwind sail type and size recommendations for my weight would be appreciated also (if I had to guess now I would go for something around 11m freeride/freerace).  Thanks.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head re sail size, an 11 should do you fine bu another option is perhaps to start with a 10.5 and then later go for a 12.5 as your biggest (I handle a 12 at my 85kg). Thus a close to ideal 3 sail quiver for S'pore for you would end up being 12.5, 10.5, 7.9 (your current sail). The 12.5 would probably be too much of a handful now but within a couple of months you should be there.

Re boards, there is a learning curve moving to formula boards but its not steep at all. Your best bet is for us to put you on a couple of boards with a large sail for demo and then let you decide what you feel best on. Give me a call at 98473033 and we will set up a demo for you.
