Hi Sukhdev,
Have you had any experience of the Yes 9m Twin Cam, mind boggles could be a nice light wind stable sail for my HS 105??
Regards Allan.
PS Keep up the great work on the forum!!

Allan, we sailed the 2001 model quite a lot. The sail is unusual for a no-cam. The design philosophy is almost the opposite of the Retro. The YES no cam sets with a very rigid foil, largely due to the massive batten tension in the midsection. This of course eats away at its low end but you gain very good top end with it. Some of the sailors here love the shorter boom, giving easier handling and gybing. The battens need correct downhaul tension to flip and the sail does need a constant curve mast. Horses for courses, if you like a stiff taut no cam then this is a good sail.

Hi Sukhdev,
Thanks for your observations, however the sail in question is the twin cam 9m for 2003?? Just wondered what you thought as it is also labelled as a high wind capable formula sail.
Cheers Allan

aarrgh, me and my burnt out brain, ok the sail in question is like the original FW 9.0 which had 2 cams. I've not sailed the new one, but Thye Hock and Ben have sailed the 9.0 extensively. Both like the locked in feel, also the short boom makes handling easier. I have a preference for controlled power in the back hand so I'm not a big fan of high aspect sails. Ben likes the 9.0 FW on the hyper and he's sailed it alot.
