Hi - thanks for all the good info on this forum.

I got a question for you - I am 75kg, 183cm and beginner/intermediate - can plane use harness but learning footstraps and also cannot plane gybe yet.  I uphaul and currently sail on the Bic1.3 formula which seems nice enough.

It is a hire board, I sailing in Thialand so weather here is about 6-15 knots usually - so far i just use an 8m Matrix Gaastra or a 9m V8 NP (which I like a lot) - all is hire gear.

I want to buy my own - I tried b4 to buy sail second hand but in Singapore everything sell so fast is it?  Instead maybe I will buy a board and rig separately.  noW i HAVE the chance to buy a Mistral RTX which is some old formula board of theirs.  Man it is really light, and the guy selling has basically never sailed it - shape is not that different to the Bic.

Do you think that this board is OK for continuing to learn on, or should I alternatively buy some board off you, or maybe a second hand x186 which is twice the price (this mistral one is only like $500 sing)

What you think man?

Its too fragile for you, if you hit the nose it will sure break off. One of the worst wide board design.

h2o

THanks a lot for your kind offer.  I will find out a little more about the falcon, and get back to you.  However, I was hoping to go for a slightly wider board... found that the are just a whole lot easier to uphaul on - this is something important to newbie like me, because so far I fall off:
- when tacking and get hit with a wave
- when trying to gybe, and coming off the plane (I planed through the whole gybe only once in my life)
- when already uphauling, and feeling tired
- when hit with a gust
- all other times not listed above

Will get back to you ok?!

Cheers
Kip
