2nd Leg of the Asian Windsurfing Tour as well as the first international event in 2003 in the whole wide world.

NOTICE OF RACE

The West Coast Windsurfing Association (WCWA) invites you to the Sixth “ MONSOON MADNESS” regatta.  This is the first event Worldwide as well as the Asian Windsurfing Tour for 2003. We expect to offer RM5000 in CASH and PRODUCT prizes.  The event will be held at DUTA VILLAGE BEACH RESORT, Balok Beach, Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia.
This is a SLALOM event. Class rules apply for Slalom Board Races; the event is open to any board (without dagger board).
Event Entry Fee is RM 200.00 (US$ 55) per competitor. This includes participation in the Monsoon Madness competition, Competitor’s Kit (ID, Sailing Instructions, Event T-shirts, invitation to social events -3 Lunches, Welcoming Dinner, Mad Beach BBQ and Prize Giving Dinner).
The official hotel is DUTA VILAGE BEACH RESORT (formerly known as Le Village Beach Resort). Room rates will be RM 65 (US$ 18) per double room. Rates for other room types and/or multiple occupancy can be arranged directly with Duta Village.

RACE RULES & REGULATIONS
EQUIPMENT   Shortboard. No centreboards for slalom and no maximum sail size limit.
RACING FORMAT Slalom - figure 8, down wind, Master Blast and a Mad Beach Dash (Le Mans start).                  
NUMBERS   Competitors are required to have sail numbers on all racing sails
ADVERTISING   Competitors are required to display advertising stickers provided by the major Sponsors on all racing sails and equipment. Stickers & logos of other conflicting Products or Companies are strictly prohibited.
SCORING    Details of point scoring will be announced before commencement of Races.
PROTESTS   Decisions made by the Protest Committee will be final and cannot be disputed.

OF EVENTS   January 9 (Thursday)   - 0900 Registration       - 1100 Start of Races
            - 1630 Start of Final Race for the Day   - 2000 Welcoming Dinner
      January 10 (Friday)   - 1100 Start of Races      - 1700 Start of Final Race for the Day
               - 2000 Mad Beach BBQ
      January 11 (Saturday)    - 1000 Start of Races      - 1700 Final Race for the Event
               - 2000 Prize Giving Dinner

Hi Leong,

thanks for posting, I'll be up and i'm sure several of the Singapore guys as well. Do you know if Sam Yap and company are organizing anything ..say a lorry? might make sense if we get enough interest.

Singapore sailors: anyone interested in going for Kuantan event and requiring help to transport boards up there email me...if there is enough interest we will figure something out.

[eh leong, why peacemaker? i know forum admin not supposed to be so kaypoh ..but...inquiring minds want to know]

Shukdev, at the moment Sam does not have any plans on a lorry.

As for Peacemaker, hey, my cantonese name means Peace, so throw in the maker to indicate something more of a blast.
