Calling all so called members of PFSSC, I just received the latest statement from the club and they are still charging for subscription? What do we get out of as members? Isn’t the beach front a public beach? Any support that the club is giving to the sport, isn’t it already covered by paying storage fees? Why are they charging till June when their lease is up in May? Any Lawyers out there to highlight the public beach issue and lease issue?

Pissing everybody off ! Why pay more when we can pay less. Let's join other clubs or suggest Suhdev to consider running the place for good (not that pasta-man who BTW makes lousy pasta). If I'm not mistaken, Suhdev once managed it quite well and every paying member was pretty satisfied with how the club was run. Let's get the pasta-cock out of that place !

How much is the membership fee anyway? and how much do you pay for the "parking" of the board/sail and parking of the car?
I guess there should be a web site with all this info, but I can't find it...

Not any1 has d special priviledges of paying d monthly '$28 + 4%GST'. Only 'Goon-Dus' who signed up as members paying d $800 entrance fees r entitled. I am just one of d 'Goon-Dus' taken in by all d empty promises of an EXCLUSIVELY sailing club which is limited 2 300 members only.
These days, those who continue contributing to the '$28 + 4%GST' are only paying for d Bangladesh, Indians, ChinaMen, Optimist Kids & Freeloaders to use d facilities.
If u do not wish 2 cough out for the exhorbitant storage fees, or feel that u paid liao SEEBEI BEY 'SHIOK', you can try these 1.)bring your equipment home after sailing, provided you have a car, of cos u r entitled 2 d free flow of water 2 wash your equipment 2.)join d so called "national" squad, u hv 2 b "gd" 2 get recruited 3.)b an instructor where they get free storage 4.)play hide & seek wif Simon & Uncle Robert 5.)keep storing yr equipment & dun pay up, & wait for the Angmoh Mafia's Lawyer's register letter. No harm taking d risk, as his lease is up soon. Not too sure if his 'kopi' $$$ managed to 'Shiok' d SSC.
just heard another rumour, URA is going to dismantle Kebanas, limiting the sailing club to 2 area not beyond the cement pavement.

not only these, customers who brought along their dogs are permitted into the club as well.
reckon if only dogs eat Pasta, Angmoh mafia would be too HAPPY to serve 'Dog Pasta'.

Have you notice that the shower taps in the showers have been changed to the pushed type and it shuts off straight after you let go of the ‘button’?
And the washing basin taps have also been changed to the more friendly type, I wonder why?
I can only conclude that the ‘club’ has only one interest and that is service and amenities for its dining customers.
I also understand that the new lease which begins in June will also be given to PF, I wonder if the sports council is aware of how the so called ‘members’ and enthusiasts to the sport of sailing are being treated.
This issue is not just about the tap. Look around the beach on weekends and the whole place seems to be catered for the dining customers. Can you really see this as a sailing club? Let alone the way it used to be.
Let’s do a comparison with some of the other sailing clubs around.
PA : Look at what they have, it basically serves itself mainly as a sailing centre. It has a gym for members to workout on windless days, a members’ lounge (air-con and free pool table), good water pressure for washing equipment and proper benches and tables and providing the best areas in the club for its members to lay about wherever they want to. They also have an F&B outlet which serves-up quite an array of dishes and drinks at very affordable prices, prices which the average Singaporean can afford.
Like myself I wouldn’t mind paying $1 for a coke. It’s not cheap but I think we have accustomed ourselves to paying hawker centre prices. After all, we are not in a Golf club. BTW, even golf clubs don’t charge as much as PF. I think as a club, the management has control of prices of F&B. This is to give members and their guests a little incentive.
Are we getting this as members of PF?
Now, I am curious to know whether the sports council would still lease out the ‘club’ to someone who doesn’t seem to cater much to the needs of the sailors. Would they still lease the ‘club’ to a ‘club’ with no members? No sailors? Will they lease the ‘club’ to become just a restaurant?
There are many other issues that we as ‘members’ are aware of. Can we do something about it?

I am getting very sick of this place. The tables are now everywhere and it is a giant nursery. One of these days one of the kids is going to get a bad injury from our gear. We should get a petition to Sports Council and Straits Times before the new lease start. Rescue is terrible and the boat boys now wash dishes instead of doing rentals. This guy is killing the club. If we do the "no action talk only" I think we better move elsewhere.

I’m very sure something can be done, and it must be done now, come on guy let’s start the petition now. Strength in unity, unity in strength. Come on guys, I don’t think we’d be asking much, just the basic stuff as a sailing club. Name Member of PFSC Vincent Lam yes

Why don't we meet one of Sundays and draft up a petition to SSC and News Forum ? Or if we are all afraid of being 'castrated', perhaps an electronic distribution via a hotmail account can be set up.
The SSC has a new CEO so we should send the letter addressed to him. I recollect we had sent them a petition last year but after the dust settled, we were back to square one.
Can someone organise ?

Is everybody waiting for everybody? Maybe we end up NATO again (no action talk only). Need a volunteer to organize the first meeting. I think the safety is now quite bad, one day somebody sure get injured on the beach.
