US Midwinter's
After three days of light wind racing, the US Midwinter's came to an end. Winds coming from every different direction that ranged from 5 to 12 knots throughout the event made for some really tight racing. All of the finishes were within a couple of seconds no matter who won any of the races.
Finishing first in the Men's Formula A division was the Frenchman Antoine Albeau, followed in a close battle between Micah Buzianis who finished in second, Gonzalo Costa Hovel in third, Kevin Pritchard in fourth and Wotjeck Brozokoski in fifth.
Gonzalo had some great races throughout the event, where Buzianis held steady throughout the event. Pritchard looked a little rusty in the early going but managed to turn it up in the last couple races. Brozokoski had a great last race leading the ferocious pack from start to finish. The light winds and short courses made for some great battles, making one mistake and you were out of the game.
"I was a little rusty out there that is for sure. I have no excuses for not winning, the competition was really good, my equipment was working really great, I just didn't put it together here in Florida. I had a great time here at the Midwinters, and it is always refreshing to be involved in a race like this one. The people here are so friendly and they are so excited about the sport of windsurfing. I leave here with a good feeling on the sport of windsurfing," said Kevin Pritchard
