Caution during NE off East Coast

Broke my mast today.

Luckily, I met a few PA sailors out there and the best thing was that they were carrying mobilephones ! while windsurfing.
Borrowed it to call back shore and soon I was rescued in quick time.
Thk u guys, if not, I will be drifted to Manamana liao.

I will bring my mobilephone out the next time.
Life is short but make it worth.

agree with meng...

actually we might consider lifejackets if sailing far away from shore? i know it sounds sissy...

but when i windsurf in hayling island,UK, alone, i do wear one, although i am used to it since i come from a sailing background...

but from experience, most of the international events (although they are raced in imco) requires use of lifevests as the courses are rather far out.

in any case, it must be real cool to have a waterproof handsfree, chatting to a friend/ boss/ wife, whilst blasting on a reach in 20 knots!

So whats the best solution, a waterproof phone or to use a Submersible Waterproof Case?  (to keep it dry, I guess it must take 1-2m depth)

Anyone know where to get a Waterproof Case in Singapore? I know you can order over the net, but I like to "see it" before I buy to make sure it fits in a pocket or elsewhere...
