Board n Sail Size

I am looking for a new board and sail. I am about 70kg and want a freeride that can plane about 10 knots and a sail for that size. What do you recommend? I thought of carve 131, is it too big?

The 131 is one of my 2 favorites in the carve range, the other being the 99. For your weight an 8.5 would do well as the big sail though; any of the freerace (GTX, Retro) or freeride models would do ok. If you really want to stretch the lower end of the wind range of the board, a 9.0 should just about work too. The board has very good upwind, speed is more than decent for a freeride hull. It should take anything from 6.5 to 8.5 with ease, so a 2 sail quiver could either be 8.5/7.0 or 8.0/6.5. Footstrap settings will affect the speed quite a bit, on the outermost settings the board can be sailed off the fin more easily; moving them inboard will give control.
Re is it too big? For the wind range that a 6.5 to 8.5 would cover it should work fine. A smaller second fin would help in very windy conditions; say a 40cm or so.
