Haveing just received my new standard fin for the 147, it looks very nice indeed for a production fin, but some what heavy compared to the standard custom deboichets.

Does the weiaght of the fin have any effect on early planning etc, as im not sure as the weight is in the water does it make a differance??

Cheers Allan xxx

Never weighed any fins; interesting question nevertheless. I'd say the difference if any would be minimal to non existent.

Had a great day on the 147 today with an R13H. If the wind holds (or gets better) I'll test out the R14H 77cm on it tomorrow.

Yeh the R13H sounds a nice combination and I will have one shortly however, I here the boogie fins are wellgood for the 147.

Yeh I was hoping to use the R13H and then change doen to the standard fin before moving on down to my R1467cm, sails saizes are 11m 9.8m and 8.7m what do you think.

Hi Sukhdev,

Did you get any luck in testing the F147 already?
Any news regarding:

(1)Fin performance. Side-by-side testing, particularly the FRB4?

(2) Board performance. Side-by-side testing, F147 vs FV1.4 vs X186, identical sails and fins?

re frb4, don't have one yet, will contact Otmar to get one.

side by side testing is suspendended right now as we are in the weird situation of having sold our old sails and waiting for the Nitro IV (anytime now). Once the new rigs are in it will be full scale tuning/testing as both Meng and me will be competing in the Malaysian event in March; by then we will know what we like/don't like.
