How did the petition go? Any effects?

Nothing much from the above yet, but there's been an official notice from Salvatore on the white board saying how he was unsuccessful in extending the lease. Other stuff include the following..

1.  Pack up your stuff and go somewhere else, we're booting you out.
2.  We got some old stuff for sale, so if any of you guys are interested in some jailed stuff and old short boards, now is the time to go check it out. I've checked out the stuff they got in the 'jail', not bad if you ask me.
3.  Guys with board/sail storage fees not paid up will get their stuff sold as well. Apparently, someone disagreed with that and wrote 'BULLS**T! WHAT ABOUT THE $800 DEPOSIT?!'
4.  And finally, he wishes us windsurfers a good time windsurfing in the future.

Think that's about it. Hope I didn't miss out anything though. No idea how the petition went though. Sad if the place has to go, especially since it played such a major role in the course of windsurfing/sailing history in Singapore....

To Vino, Jen, Sea Urchin -- OK, point taken. The voices of reason win the day. Thank you. No need to say any more.

To Salvator -- Sorry, but I don't understand what you wrote.

To Ulama, Another PA, and a few others -- Nothing.

To those few PA regulars -- I STILL haven't recieved any PMs with your real names; you cowboys are still free to talk s*** in complete anonymity here in this forum. Must be a nice feeling.  Yeah my name's Andrew

Whoa, I almost forgot... yesterday a local windsurfer, whom I trust and respect, suggested that rather than just saying "PA sucks", I should have explained what I meant, in a less direct way, and perhaps then certain simple people mightn't have been so aggressve in their responses.

So, with the gracious co-operation of the local windsurfing community,  I would like to humbly retract my earlier statement that PA sucks the poo out of a sad old doggies butt, and replace it with this:

 To ME (a personal opinion only, although it is actually shared by lots of others I know) the PA facility is a big grey block of concrete which is purely functional and not an especially nice place to spend lazy afternoons waiting for the wind, nor particularly suited to the general mind-set of windsurfing as I have come to know it (unlike Pasta Fresca)(I really don't like concrete at the beach! I like grass and sand and wooden buildings, etc.);
it's inaccessible unless you have a car or happen to live on the airport bus route;
 it has no hawker centre nearby;
 it doesn't have a rescue service 365 days a year;
 it's not even OPEN 365 days a year;
 you have to detach your boom when you hang up    your sail (oh the inconvenience!);
 it's too crowded;
 there's no privacy in the showers (maybe I'll just wear a poncho);
and most of all WE ARE NOT GOING THERE BY CHOICE BUT BECAUSE OUR BELOVED PASTA FRESCA IS BEING CLOSED DOWN!!!!!!!!!!

I rest my case.  And I'm quite ok if I don't make too many new friends there, because I'll be bringing plenty of old ones with me.

Hi, i am a PA regular as well. Planesailing, yes u r rude n really not contributing much to salvage the situation. Shame on u.

To PA though, u might wanna consider wat Mr Rude guy had said and improve on the environment of PA. (well, i dunno if posting here will catch u guys attention, haha, just tryin my luck) Mayb upgrade the shower facilities to be more private? add more coconuts trees or watever to provide more shades? Service wise i should said its pretty gd

hey, y not just start a brain storming thread for ideas tat can keep PF running? some innovative proposals tat might interests the SSC? Or a win-win situation which can bring benefit to SSC while windsurfers get to keep their paradise?

What is needed is ideas n suggestions, not complaints...Cheers!

. What do you hope to achieve out of posting something like that.

You are not going to PA 'by choice'? You are 'quite ok if I don't make too many new friends'?? Dude, you are really begging for trouble by saying this.

If you so damned reluctant to switch to PA, then you can jolly well piss off to NSC or SAFRA or keep your rig at home. Don't come to PA if it is so detestable to you.

Look, I have sailed out of both PA and PF before. And although PF does have a nice rustic charm to it, anybody with any sense will admit that PA is a pretty decent windsurfing place too. 'Concrete block'? Most surfers at PA chill out at the grassy patches outside the club or on the beach itself. It makes for a very nice atmosphere which exudes no less a windsurfing 'hang loose' vibe than PF does

And if you can't be bother to spend that extra 30mins to get to PA or even to remove your boom  Is it cause you DON'T know how to attach your boom back again??, then you're not showing much discipline. 'No privacy in the showers'????!! What are you, a goddamn fairy? And fairy or not, there is nothing to be pai seh about in going about naked when taking a shower.
Honestly man. Either change that stinkin' attitude of yours or bugger off.

To Plane aka Andrew,

When are you coming over to PA?
We are all excited for you to come over
Since NE seems like ending and wind
is getting light, we need some other
form of exercises like Muay Thai

ok ok ....while PF, ECSC or Europa is going to be extinct soon, let's just savour the final month with blessed wind.

it's true PA is d other alternative for PF sailors to go next after April 2006.
let's just ponder, at least there's a place to store our gear etc....bunch of same natives, same wind language talkers on just d other side of the bedok jetty.

minor adjustment, won't die...

it's better than nothing.

also, time to make magic and wand to stop this thread before it becomes a another 'confrontational'.

so far, some hardcore PF members are pitching last attempt to the garhment for petitions.
too many rumours and versions on the next development.
see how...

time to lock this thread before fins turn daggers, mast extensions turn baseball bats etc...

PA sailors should be looking an old familiar face soon.

chill....

happy sailing....
