Anybody knows how to go about setting up a webcam that updates itself every few mins? I've got an unlimited usage ADSL connection, a little USB webcam(planning to up grade to a better cam to zoom further out if it's successful) and a view overlooking the sea over PA and NSC(Bayshore blocking my view of Bedok jetty and PFSSC). If successful, I'll post a link here in the forum for you all to try it out.

With a search for "publish webcam" at www.download.com I found a lot of free stuff...

I downloaded Booru WebCam 1.2 and got my webcam going in 20 minutes.
The result with "Booru WebCam" looks like this (sorry, no windsurfing from my window...).

This SW was easy to configure but need to be manually started/activated. Perhaps you should try a few and see what is best for you...

Most of these freeware (like the one I tried) will (at a configurable time interval) FTP a snapshot file from your webcam to a specified web site. Thus, if you dont have FTP access to a web site it will be difficult, but perhaps you can work something out with bluefinz.com

b_mouz, lets go for it, contact me directly and lets see if we can get the cam stuff set up..great idea! I've got tons of disk space on my web server so we should be able to do a history window and tie it to the chart on wunderground.

Tried out VisionGS PE 1.2. This SW will (at least in somewhat darker conditions) give a better image quality. In addition, this program can start to operate/capture as soon as it is started. Getting dark soon, so no point trying further...

From that location, I think you can basically see from tanah merah to the CBD.
