Do you think the new Gaastra mast can perfectly fit the old Nitro II?

A pure guess, I don't see why not but will have to wait till we get our first masts to have a definitive answer. In theory any constant curve mast will work (F'spar r6k, NPX7, YES, etc)

In your opinion is better buy a Nitro II (new not used) or a new 2003 GTX?

Mark, no easy answer..

What size of Nitro II? One of the problems in Singapore was several people bought 9.0 and 9.x nitros as light wind sails, hoping to use them in 10 knots etc. These sails really are incredible in their right wind range which is more towards the 20 knot range but are not light wind sails. It is possible to gain some low end by modifying the battens, I had Barry himself do this to my 8.3 Nitro 1 with very good effect.

In other words, most guys who bought the 9.0 etc were way too conservative in sizing, they should have been buying 10.x or even 11.

If you are buying for our local conditions and you are not a hard core racer then come demo the 9.3 GTX 2003. I think its range may suprise you, I know both Ben and me have been pretty impressed by how well the sails handled during the windy competition week.

To give you an idea of sizing, for Nitro IV my quiver (I'm 85kg) is going to be 12.0, 10.5, 9.3 for formula. I doubt I'll use the 9.3 in anything under 18 to 20knots. For someone say 10kg lighter I would suggest 11.0, 9.8,8.5...assuming a reasonable level of fitness and skill.

Slalom sizing is different, for slalom on the hyper I would use 9.3, 7.6, 6.6.

we have the 9.3, 7.5 and 6.5 GTX 2003 on demo.
